The following rules have
governed all of the past tournaments and met only mild complaints...
- The tournament will
be a 4-person scramble format.
- Scoring is handicapped
for those needing it. We have both scratch and handicap teams.
- Each player will hit
the ball and as a team, select which of the four shots was the
best. Just remember that one of the four shots must be selected
no matter how bad it was!!! (Example: All 4 players hit their
balls in the water. Then the team will hit 3 from the tee box or
3 before the point of entry into the water no nearer the hole.)
The ball selected will be the point at which each of the four
players will hit their next shot. This same rule applies once
the team has reached the green. Each of the players will putt
from the same point (for all you Aggies, make sure you all do
not do this at the same time!).
- The score will be
the total of each best shot which was selected. In the event
that your score is more than a triple bogey (3 shots over par)
on any one particular hole, please pick up and proceed to the
next hole. Also in case any of your teammates lose a ball or
themselves please try to keep the search party down to around 3
minutes or less and a memorial service can be held for all lost
balls and players after the tournament.
- All men should tee
off from the white tee box area which is the next tee area from
the blue tee boxes. Any heroes or golfing gods which wish to tee
off from the championship blue tees probably should not be
playing in this tournament, and the should dump the full amount
of sand in their shoes as they tee off from the white tee area.
- All ladies should
tee off from the red tee box. If
any lady has played from any other colored tee box a random test
will be conducted to validate gender. The same rule above about
the blue tees apply to the ladies as well.
- There will be 4
holes for the closest to the pin contest and indicated on your
event packet. If one of your team members placed
a ball within any of the flags, please remember to position and
update the flag with the name of the person who hit that shot.
- A longest putt
competition will be determined. After your team has
completed the hole, each team member will putt from a specific
place on the green. The closest ball to the hole will be marked.
If more than 1 person makes the putt a putt-off will be held.
- In case of any ties,
the scores of each team involved will be compared from hole 18
on back. For example, if Team 1 and Team 2 tie for first and
Team 1 scored a 4 on hole 18 while Team 2 scored 5, then Team 1
would be declared the champions.
