All proceeds and sponsor contributions go directly to Heart House, a local Dallas charitable organization. We raised just at $7000 in 2005 and hope to do at least that well this year.

In brief, Heart House is a non-profit agency providing afterschool programs dedicated to raising academic achievement levels for low-income and at-risk children in inner city areas and encouraging them to become active, involved members of society. Staff members and volunteers supervise the children, provide tutoring and mentoring, and help them to build the skills and develop the attitudes they need to succeed in life. Specific program initiatives include: Tutoring and Homework Assistance; Art Enrichment; Literacy Program; Health & Safety Education; Computer Learning Center. 

Heart House is open every weekday after school until 7 -8 p.m., depending on the site.  Each house has an average enrollment of 80 children. On any given day, nearly 60 children in grades K-8 attend the after school program. Dallas currently operates two locations.
